Designers’ Profile

Comprising the team of Signa Designer Residences are esteemed names in design whose works have propelled Philippine design to international acclaim.

Budji Layug has been a celebrated furniture and interior designer all over Asia and United States thirty years after designing his first collection of bamboo furniture. He remains a formidable presence overseas with shops in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, show rooms in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and representative stores that span continents. Layug was also the first Filipino designer to be featured in Bloomingdale’s “The China Exhibit,” where his Giant Bamboo designs were featured.

Royal Pineda is a notable architect and the managing and designing partner at Budji Layug + Royal Pineda Design Architects. He honed his skills and creativity at the prestigious firm of National Artist for Architecture Leandro Locsin. He has created a number of luxury projects here and in Asia such as The Trees in Bangkok, The Coper in Kuala Lumpur, and Grand Napalai in Phuket.                                                                                                                                                                                           

Kenneth Cobonpue is an internationally-recognized furniture designer, having won the 2005 Design for Asia Award of Hong Kong, Asia’s highest award, for his Lolah chair. He received his degree in Industrial Design from the Pratt Institute in New York, and obtained professional and academic experience from Italy and Germany.  Among Cobonpue’s clients include actor Brad Pitt and Warner Brothers.
